"Mørketid"
MØRKETID
Mørketid is inspired by the quiet landscapes of Northern Norway during the darkest months of the year. A solitary figure stands between land, sea, and mountain, where the boundaries between light and shadow become less distinct. The familiar red boathouse and traditional workwear place the scene within a coastal landscape shaped by generations of life by the sea.
Growing up in Northern Norway has given me a deep appreciation for these landscapes and the people who belong to them. The changing seasons, the shifting light, and the quiet rhythm of coastal life continue to influence my work.
Rather than focusing on action, Mørketid captures a moment of stillness. It reflects the relationship between people and place, inviting the viewer to pause and experience the calm, isolation, and quiet strength that define life in the north.
